Experience the City Highlights

Florence’s most recognizable landmark is brought to life through our Express Duomo tour. From its stunning marble patterned exterior to its staggering 375 ft high dome, the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is a must-see for anyone visiting the city. On this tour you will be guided through the rich history of its nearly two century long construction and view the beautiful frescos that decorate the inside of the structure.

More than a beautiful landmark, the cathedral’s story is also deeply entwined with the history of Florence. Your expert, local guide will paint a detailed picture of life during the various stages of the construction as you view the beautiful marble floors, stained glass windows, and frescos adorning the interior, including Vasari’s The Last Judgement.

and Learn The Cities History

You will also learn about the many architects who sought to complete the church from 1296 to 1436 and the innovative technique used by Filippo Brunelleschi to finally construct the dome. And with small group sizes of only 25 people or fewer, you will easily be able to interact with and ask questions directly to your English-speaking guide.

Lines for this beautiful cathedral can be long, but our access allows you to enter immediately without the wait, so you can spend the rest of your day enjoying a coffee or gelato in the Piazza Del Duomo instead of in line.

When your tour of the Duomo is over you can also access the nearby Museo della Misericordia on your own. The forerunner of the Ambulance Corps, this fascinating museum covers the response to health emergencies as well as displaying its collection of art.

Important Notes

  • The Museum closes at 4:00 PM. If you booked a tour at 3:00 PM or 3:30 PM you can visit the museum before your tour (by presenting the voucher at the entrance) or on the following day.
